The Mountain Fork River, found within Beavers Bend Resort Park provides some of the best views of the Kiamichi Mountains and all you need is a kayak or canoe. How does it work?
It is simple—you just show up! This is a no reservation, first come first serve kind of place but with a lot of boats in stock; you should have no problem getting on the river in a timely fashion. If you have a large group it may a good idea to call ahead to give them a heads up that you are coming.
A shuttle takes you or your group upstream, they help get you all set up and set you on your way. Then you simply float back to where your car is parked. Sounds fun doesn’t it?There is no white water to be concerned about—the water level is always safe and makes for an enjoyable and peaceful voyage. You do not need to have any experience at all. The folks here are so helpful in making sure you are comfortable and because the river is so calm, it is a great place for even the young ones to learn. There are 2 ½ miles of beautiful river to float down that you can take up to two hours to complete. Keep your camera ready as you may even catch sightings of deer, bald eagles and minks.

$23 – Canoes are for two adults and two small children if desired
$12 – Kayaks are for one person
