The area surrounding Broken Bow, Oklahoma contains rivers, lakes, mountains and forests—all the makings of a perfect vacation, and also the inspiration behind Broken Bow’s Mountain Forks Brewery.

Logo for brewery featuring a mountain, eagle and type.Prior to 2015, there was no brewery in the Broken Bow area, a lack that was noted by three beer-loving guys who did something about it, and are now co-owners of the popular Mountain Fork Brewery.

The name comes from the nearby Mountain Fork River, which supplies the pristine water used for brewing the company’s beers, which include a year-round lineup as well as seasonal brews. Among the 10 standards are easy drinking Three Rivers Blonde Ale; The Rooster, a Belgian session styled beer with a crisp finish; Gentleman Jackalope, a dry and citrusy IPA; and Timber Creek Ale, amber colored and refreshingly malty. Seasonal beers include Elder Stag, a dark wheat made for cool nights; and Hocha Cheer, a red spicy ale with holiday spices.

Though the space is large, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and nice for lingering. Large windows let diners look in on the brew tanks. And a large outdoor patio provides more inviting space on nice days.
