One of the single most perfect mornings of my life was spent on the Mountain Fork River.  Just thinking about it brings a smile to my face.

Ahhhhh fly fishing on the Mountain Fork river.  I hired a guide and rented the proper equipment.  Equipment is very very important to fly fishermen/women.  In fact….it’s all about the equipment.  You can’t fish properly without the right “stuff”.  I didn’t catch a single fish that morning, in fact, I didn’t get a single nibble.  Which, thinking back, probably made my experience better than if I had.  Touching a fish is not high on my list of fun things to do.  My best memory is the feeling of the water whishing by me as I wore my waders out for my first cast.  If you have never worn waders, you don’t know what you are missing.  Just standing in the river was a unique experience and then I started learning the fly cast.  It took a few tries but I got the hang or fly of it, if you will.  Picking the correct fly, the motion of the wrist and then putting it perfectly on the water were the only thoughts in my head.  No cell phone, no email, no husband or child.  It was all me and my river and those beautiful elusive fish.  It truly was a wonderful day.

If you have never had this experience or if you have and want to again, now is the time to visit the Mountain Fork River.  The regular bi-weekly stockings of rainbow trout will be combined with 5 additional stockings over the next few months, and will result in a river teeming with fish for anglers to catch.  This means an extra 1200 to 1500 fish in the river.

Visit http://www.beaversbendcreativeescapes.com/ to reserve your cabin.  We have numerous cabins located in the surrounding forest, 3 to 6 miles from the river and a couple on the river.  Bring your family and friends and make a mini-vacation out of it.  We are currently offering our Smore Fun special so you get all the fixins for smores.   Don’t forget to book your guide and reserve your equipment.  We have guides listed on our website above under the area attractions tab.  Remember, it is all about the equipment.  After a day on the river you may want to visit http://www.thegirlsgonewine.com/ for a glass of vino and some shopping or go across the street to the Greatful Head for some pizza and beer.  Or maybe you just want to sit by the fire at your luxurious cabin and relax.

Ahhh this could become one of your favorite memories as well.
