There may be some that say those of us who live in Broken Bow, OK are a little biased about how we describe where we live. The truth is our special little nook in Oklahoma truly is breathtaking and Broken Bow Lake is proof! Nestled in the Ouachita Mountains of McCurtain County, this lake is 22 miles long lake with pristine, crystal-blue waters and is one of our state’s most beautiful places.

Broken Bow Lake provides some of the best year-round fishing spots and a variety of water recreation activities. It is the perfect setting for the Beavers Bend Kayak Classic that is coming up on April 5, 2014. One of the best things about this tournament is that it is for everyone – all ages, shapes, sizes and skill levels are encouraged to come out. So, if you have never kayaked or fished before, you will not be alone and it will be a great reason to start! This is a catch, photo and release tournament so you will need to bring your own camera with a removable card and a measuring board. If you do not have a proper measuring tool, they will be available for sale the day of the event for $16.

Tournament organizers will be on hand to help you with each facet of the event. You can reserve rental kayaks in advance by calling (405) 235-2925 and they can even hook you up with a seasoned kayak angler who can show you the ropes. This will be a relaxed, stress-free event at which you can meet a bunch of new friends, catch a few fish and even win a super awesome prize!
