Fish Tales Winery & Vineyard for Local Vintages

Located in what was once a humble fly-fishing shop, the newest owners have combined their love of fly-fishing and wines to bring Fish Tales Winery and Vineyard (and fermenting room), with its wines being the product of their nearby vineyards: Jesse and Linda King welcome you to their tasting room as on stop on your Broken Bow winery tour.

Muscadines grapes are the main fruits found in their vineyards. This black grape is one of the oldest varietals in the country, and is known as “the grape of the south” for its ability to thrive in the area’s hot and humid climate. The grape is an excellent source of fiber, is loaded with antioxidants, and even contains Ellagic Acid: a product that is proven to inhibit cancer cell growth through apoptosis (making the cancer cells kill themselves)! Who wouldn’t want to add this grape, or its resulting wines, to their diet?

Of course, other varietals are also raised, both purple and white grapes which allow the winery to produce a full family of delicious wines.

Red offerings from the winery may include Muscadines (of course), Cynthiana, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Blackberry, and Red Moscato. White wines might include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, White Muscadine, Niagara, and Moscato.

We offer the conditional phrases on wine selection because the ability to create a product relies completely on which grapes “take” and flourish each year. If a bad crop of grapes occurs, or a varietal does not produce, of course those wines cannot be produced either.

The winery also offers red and white Muscadine juices, and the makings for personalized relish trays that you can enjoy in-house during your tasting, or take the ingredients home for a fun lunch or afternoon snack.

Fish Tales Winery can be found at 17 Oak Leaf Lane in Broken Bow. Their hours are currently:

  • Monday-Friday: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and
