Beavers Bend Folk Festival & Craft Show: November 11-13, 2016

Most people agree: they love outdoor fall festivals. The weather is cooler, making it particularly enjoyable to be outside. The fall colors offer a beautiful backdrop and provide leaves crunching underfoot. And one can not help but realize that the year-end holidays are just around the corner, making the talented fall craft vendors your very first stop when shopping for those gifts.fall-trees-dt51448016

If you are one of those who enjoy all things “fall festival”, then head to Broken Bow… and specifically the Forest Heritage Center in Beavers Bend State Park on the 2016 weekend of November 11, 12 and 13 for the 23rd Annual Folk Festival and Craft Show!

Besides the gorgeous weather and fall colors, you’ll find nearly 70 vendors and exhibits featuring our area’s most skilled crafters. You’ll hear talented musicians playing folk music, Celtic and early American tunes throughout the weekend. Exhibitors will demonstrate wood-turning, knife-making, quilting, candle-making and soap-making. Artisanal vendors offering products of all types fill the area, offering their unique and valuable wares.

And don’t forget the food: all your favorite festival meals are accompanied by treats like caramel apples, funnel cakes, kettle corn, sugared nuts and more. Of course, fall brings seasonal beverages like apple cider and root beer to the gathering to wash it all down.

Kids love the festival as well: the petting zoo, decorating toy tops, dancing to the music and enjoying the forest.

Done at the Festival? Head deeper into the Park and enjoy train rides, trout streams, hiking and horseback riding.

Festival hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, email the Forest Heritage Center Museum at fhc@beaversbend.com or by phone at 580-494-6497.
